  • Students in 5th and 6th grade can apply to join the Archery Team. Advisors: Miss Weaver, Mrs. Townsend, Officer Baker, and Coach Miller. 

  • Battle of the Books encourages students to develop a love of reading while strengthening comprehension and teamwork skills. Students read a variety of high-quality books representing different genres, styles, and viewpoints as they prepare for the annual competition. Our school team consists of 12 students, with six students competing in each round.

    The team meets every Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. to discuss books, practice questions, and prepare for competition.

  • Do you love a good math challenge? The Math Counts Team meets before school to work together on challenging math problems, strengthen problem-solving skills, and prepare for the annual Catawba Counts Math Competition. Students will put their math skills to the test while having fun and working as a team!

  • The Music Ensemble gives students the opportunity to grow their love of music through singing and playing a variety of instruments. The group meets once a week after school to practice, learn new music, and build performance skills. Each year, students have the opportunity to perform for our school community and showcase their musical talents!

  • The 2nd–3rd Grade Robotics Team introduces students to coding, robotics, problem-solving, and teamwork through hands-on activities with three different robots: Sphero, Finch, and Dash. Students work together to learn how to code and operate each robot while maneuvering through increasingly challenging mazes and completing fun coding tasks. The team also prepares to participate in the annual county robotics competition.

    The team meets every Tuesday after school until 5:00 p.m.

    Get ready to build, program, and compete! Our Robotics Team for students in grades 4-6 is the perfect way to combine teamwork, technology, and problem-solving. Using LEGO Prime and Sphero robots, you'll work with a team to prepare for two exciting events: the CCS Winter Competition in December and the Sumobot Competition in April. Join us as we compete against nearly 200 other teams from across Catawba County! We meet on Tuesdays starting in September.
